1955. For nearly the 40 years, Catalina has played
host to the Catalina Island Junior Tournament.
Former players include Craig Stadler, Corey Pavin,
John Cook, Amy Alcott, and Tiger Woods. This course
is located on Catalina Island. Make it over there,
and you can get to the course. For the golfer who
loves a history lesson, Catalina Island is a

Designed by David Rainville. Cathedral Canyon is
three distinct courses played in 18-hole
combinations. The Lake Course is target golf, with
water hazards on every hole. The Mountain Course is
hilly, with tree-lined fairways. It has the longest
yardage of the three courses. The Arroyo Course is
Scottish links in style with bountiful fairways and
no trees. The yardage listed is for the Lake and
Mountain nines. Carts are included and mandatory.
From downtown Los Angeles (about 115 miles east to
the course): Take I-10 east. Exit at Date Palm
Drive, turn right, and drive about five miles. Turn
right on Dinah Shore Drive and then left on
Cathedral Canyon Drive. The club is on the right.
Beware of the trees on the Lake and Mountain
Courses. They are not for show and should command
your full attention.
