Designed by Pete Dye. This Pete Dye layout is more forgiving than many of his others. The back nine plays above the front nine and features picturesque views and memorable shots. There is a hitting cage but no driving range at Carmel Valley Ranch. From Monterey (about 15 miles south­east to the course): Head south on Highway 1. Turn left on Carmel Valley Road. Go about eight miles. Merge to the right on Robinson Canyon Road. Go about 100 yards to the entrance to the resort on the left.

Designed by unknown. This is a friendly, parkland-style course on the banks of the Carson River. You will find plenty of water and majestic cottonwoods. Carson Valley is suited for all abilities. From Reno (about 49 miles south to the course): Go south on US 395. Two miles south of Gardnerville, turn right on Riverview Drive. The club is on the left.
