Designed by Harry Rainville (nine holes).
Candlewood dates back to the late 1920s. Extremely
short by today's standards, this traditional course,
with lots of trees and lateral water hazards, can
cause problems for the golfer who tends to hit the
ball long and wrong. Reciprocal play with other
members-only clubs is allowed. From downtown Los
Angeles (about 18 miles southeast to the course):
Take Highway 60 east to I-605
south. Exit on Telegraph Road and
turn left (east). The club is down three to four
miles, past Florence Ave.

Designed by William F. Bell. This is a level
course with two large lakes. The fairways are
surrounded by homes, which can cause severe
frustration for the golfer who sprays the ball off
the tee and plays by the rules. From downtown Los
Angeles (about 115 miles east to the course): Take
I-10 east to Highway 111 into Palm Springs. Turn
left on Vista Chino and then right on Sunrise. When
the road bends, turn left on Toledo. Toledo turns
right and becomes Murray Canyon Drive.
