CALABASAS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB (1968)

LOS ANGELES REGION

Members only - 18 hole

4515 Park Entrada, Calabasas Park, CA 91302

Tel: (818) 222-3222

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Robert Trent Jones Sr. The tight Bermuda fairways take some getting used to, but if you play from the fairways, the Calabasas will give up low scores. Houses can be found throughout the course, but really only affect the severe slicer or duck hooker (of course that is probably about 85 percent of all golfers). From downtown Los Angeles (about 29 miles northwest to the course): Take the Ventura Freeway (US 101) north and exit on Parkway Calabasas. Make a couple of lefts to cross over the freeway. Turn right on Park Entrada. The club is on the left.

CALIFORNIA COUNTRY CLUB (1956)

LOS ANGELES REGION

Members only - 18 hole

1509 South Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601

Tel: (626) 968-4222

Designed by William F. Bell. This is a traditional layout with spacious, tree-lined fairways and smaller crowned greens. From morning to afternoon, the wind will change directions from west to east. Reciprocal play with other members-only clubs is allowed. The course is located about 17 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Drive east on the Pomona Freeway (Highway 60). Take the Crossroads exit and go left. Turn left on Crossroads Parkway North and then make a right on Workman Mill Road. Turn left on Coleford to the club.
