Bodega Harbour, The Links At and Bolado Park Golf Course, California

BODEGA HARBOUR, THE LINKS AT (1977)

NORTH COAST REGION

Semi-Private - 18 hole - cost: $30 - $75

21301 Heron Drive, Bodega Bay, GA 94923

Tel: (707) 875-3538

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is bipolar. The front nine is a demanding, hilly, links-style course with few flat lies. The back nine is more open off the tee, with subtle elevation changes. The course offers spectacular ocean views, tricky greens and a coastal breeze. From San Francisco (about 65 miles northwest to the course): Take US 101 north to Petaluma. Exit at East Washington Street and head west toward Valley Ford, Bodega Bay and Highway 1. Go north on Highway 1. Make a left on South Harbor Way and then a right on Heron Drive. Drive time is about 30 minutes from Petaluma. This should be on everyone's must-play list. The last three holes are spectacular. However, on the front side, you can be penalized for hitting a good shot. Walking (climbing) the front nine is nearly impossible. The back side is just the opposite.
