Designed by Cary Bickler, John Cook. Surrounded by the nature preserve of the Mount Miguel foothills, this scenic course features many elevation changes, wide fairways, natural grasses, and dramatic bunkering. Devoid of trees, it is not too long on the card, but you will find yourself hitting most all of your clubs. The greens are open in the front, making the layout quite playable. Carts are included in green fees and mandatory. From San Diego (about 15 miles, south to the course): Take I-805 to Chula Vista, exit at H Street, and head east almost seven miles. Turn left at Hunte Parkway. It will dead-end at the course. This course and the practice/learning facilities are pretty impressive. It is a ruggedly beautiful spot and a fun course with good service.

Designed by Desmond Muirhead, Olin Dutra, Robert Muir Graves. This is a scenic resort course that places the emphasis on fun, rather than punishing golf. The front nine plays up into the hills and through the canyons. The back nine is flat and navigates around a tidal lagoon. Avila Beach Resort is also home to many concerts and festivals. There are not a lot of places you can golf and then go to a beer 'n' blues fest. From San Luis Obispo (about eight miles south to the course): Take US 101 south and exit at Avila Beach. Travel west for approximately four miles. The resort is on the right.
