the the player who can't keep it in the fairway on
this hilly course. The South Course is narrow but is
much shorter and less punishing than the North
Course. The yardage listed is for the North Course.
From within San Diego: Go north on I-15 to the
Friars Road exit. Head east after exiting the

This flat, open course is spotted with water,
mounding, and bunkers. All of this makes accurate
shot-making a must. The layout drains well for those
who enjoy winter golf. In the summertime, afternoon
wind will be a factor. If you make it through holes
seven, eight, nine, and ten without any major
disasters, a low score will be your reward. Adobe
has one of the best golf learning centers in the
area.
From San Francisco (about 40
miles north to the course): Take US 101 north,
through Marin
County.
Just before entering
Petaluma, exit at Highway 116
east. Make a left on Frates Road. The
course is on the left. More entertaining than
Rooster Run, the course is far more interesting and
challenging than it appears from the drive up. Adobe
Creek is highly recommended for winter play, as it
remains open and playable when others are not.
