Designed by Fred Strong. This is a short course with small, quick greens and water on five holes. Holes two, three, and four are long, challenging par 3s. From Sacramento (about 40 miles east to the course): Take I-80 east to Auburn and exit at Bell Road. Make a right on Bell and a left onto Musso Road. The course is on the right.

Designed by William F. Bell. Off the first tee, the driving range creates out-of-bounds. Once you get past that, the fairways have plenty of trees, but are generous. Make your mistakes early, because holes 6, 7 and 8 are monster par 4s. The greens are mostly elevated and have subtle breaks that tend to move toward the ocean. Recreation Park South is the short nine-hole course located across the street. From west Los Angeles (about 29 miles southeast to the course): Take the San Diego Freeway (I-405) south, exit at Seventh Street and go west about five miles. Turn right on Federation into the park and then right at the stop sign to the course.
