BRAEMAR COUNTRY CLUB (1963)

LOS ANGELES REGION

Members only: 36 hole

4001 Reseda Boulevard, Tarzana, CA 91357

Tel: (818) 345-6520

Designed by Ted Robinson. The East Course is longer and more open. The West Course is shorter, but tighter. Both courses are hilly, and golfers must traverse over and around barrancas, water, and small sloped greens. Homes around the course create out-of-bounds. The yardage listed is for the East Course. From downtown Los Angeles (about 21 miles northwest to the course): Take the Ventura Freeway (US 101) north to Reseda Boulevard exit. Turn left and drive about two and one-half miles, toward the Santa Monica Mountains, up the hill.

BREA GOLF COURSE (1957)

ORANGE COUNTY REGION

Municipal: 9 hole: cost $8 - $12

501 West Fir Street, Brea, CA 92621

Tel: (714) 529-3003

Designed by William F. Bell. Besides a storm creek that runs through the middle of the course, you will find few obstacles on this short layout. Currently, these are the lowest green fees in Orange County. From Anaheim (about six miles north to the course): Take Highway 57 (Orange Freeway) north. Exit at Imperial Highway and head west. Turn left on Brea Boulevard and then right on Fir Street.
