Golf Game

Standard USGA 18 holes golf courses consist of 4 par four holes, 4 par five holes and 10 par four holes. Each hole composed of a tee box, fairway, putting green and the hole.

The golf game is played over a golf course that contains 18 holes, a golf hole is composed of a tee box, which is the starting point for any given hole; a fairway is a pathway proceeding away from the tee box toward the putting green, putting green is a smooth surface where the hole is found.

Golfer start the game on each hole with "tee off" from the tee box by setting the ball on a little wooden peg called a "tee" in the ground. The golfer hits the ball repeatedly along the fairway from its resting point on the tee using various golf clubs until it rolls in the hole on the green. This sequence of events is done repeatedly over 18 holes and all the strokes are combined and calculated to generate an 18-hole score.

Par is the expected score for an expert golfer would be expected to make for a given hole. In other words, Par mean no error play from tee to green under normal weather condition and two putt on putting green. Par is an ideal score which very few golfers actually achieve on a regular basis.

Bogey (one stroke over par) and double bogey and triple bogey (two and three strokes over par, respectively) are another common terms referring to scores on holes. Birdie refer to one under par and eagle refer to two under par.

Golf holes are of difference lengths, standard USGA 18 holes golf courses are consist of four Par three holes, four Par five holes and ten Par four holes with total of 72 total strokes for 18 holes.

Holes ranging up to 250 yards in length are generally assigned a par of three strokes, it should take scratch golfer one shot to get from tee box to green and two putts to get the ball in the hole. Holes ranging from 250 to 450 yards in length are usually considered to be par fours, allowing two shots from tee box to green and two putts to finish the hole. Holes over 450 yards are generally par five, requiring three shots to the green and again two putts.
